Frequently Asked Questions
What items do you clean?
We specialize in cleaning car seats, strollers, wagons, high chairs, and other select baby gear (just ask!) All cleaning is done following each manufacturer’s safety guidelines.
What products do you use?
We only use non-toxic, child-safe products and always follow manufacturer guidelines. Lysol wipes are used only for high chair hard surfaces and stroller/wagon wheels. Dawn is diluted for spot cleaning harnesses and shells. Brushes are for crumbs only, never for scrubbing. We rely on microfiber cloths for all other cleaning.
Why do you need my gear’s make and model?
Every seat and stroller has unique cleaning requirements. Knowing the make and model ensures we follow manufacturer instructions for safety and warranty compliance. The safety of your little one is at the forefront of everything we do, from the products we choose to the way we clean.
Do you remove all stains?
While we do our best to make your gear look like new, some stains, wear, or fading may be permanent. We’ll always let you know if we notice anything that may not come out completely.
Do you clean gear with vomit, urine, or other biohazards?
Yes, we handle common bio messes like vomit, urine, and feces. Because these situations require additional sanitation steps, a biohazard fee applies. This also means your service will take longer than our typical turnaround time. Please note, bio fees are charged per item and not per booking.
We ask that all solid matter be removed to the best of your ability prior to pickup/drop-off. Please disclose any bio contamination in your booking form so that we can properly assess and clean your gear in accordance with the manufacturer guidelines.
Do you offer pickup and drop-off?
Yes! We provide pickup and drop-off service in Concord, Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek, Martinez, Lamorinda, Alamo, Danville, and San Ramon. You can also drop off your items (in Concord) for a discount. Live outside of our service territory? We can still work with you! Extended travel fees start at $35.
How long does cleaning take?
Your gear is returned to you the following morning between 6am-9am, typically within 12 hours or less. Larger items and biohazard remediation will take more time, and will be coordinated with you in advance. Rush service is available for an additional fee. Extended service appointments require extended turnaround times, depending on where you are located within the Bay Area.
What if my seat is expired, recalled, or damaged?
For safety reasons, Bubble Tot Cleaning cannot service items that are expired, under recall, damaged, or have been involved in a collision. We do not clean gear with visible mold or mildew. We reserve the right to refuse service if an item presents these conditions.
Why does Bubble Tot Cleaning charge a travel fee?
Travel fees help cover the additional time, mileage, traffic conditions, and bridge tolls required to safely pick up and deliver baby gear outside our standard service area.
Where is your standard service territory?
Our standard service territory includes Concord, Walnut Creek, Martinez, Pleasant Hill, Lamorinda, Alamo, Danville, and San Ramon. There is no travel fee within this area.
How are travel fees determined?
Travel fees are based on:
Distance from Concord
County served
Traffic conditions (peak vs. off-peak)
Required bridge crossings and tolls
Scheduling impacts associated with extended service areas
To keep things simple and transparent, fees are set by county, not mileage.
Do travel fees include bridge tolls?
Yes. Travel fees include any required bridge tolls (such as the Benicia Bridge or Bay Bridge), along with added travel time and congestion.
Is the travel fee per item or per booking?
Travel fees are per booking, not per item.
Will my turnaround time be affected if I’m outside the service area?
Yes. Extended service areas require a slightly longer turnaround time due to travel logistics. We always confirm timing in advance.
Can travel fees be waived or reduced?
Travel fees are fixed based on location and cannot be waived. This ensures consistent pricing and availability for all clients.

Do you offer CPST services?
Yes we do! Please see our CPST services page for details on the services we offer.
What is a CPST?
A Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) is a nationally certified car seat safety expert trained to teach caregivers how to correctly install and use child restraints. CPSTs complete a rigorous certification program through Safe Kids Worldwide and stay current on vehicle and car seat safety standards.
What does a CPST appointment include?
During an appointment, your CPST will:
Inspect your car seat for expiration, recalls, and fit-to-child
Teach you how to install the seat in your own vehicle (seat belt and LATCH methods)
Check proper harnessing, recline angle, and tether use
Answer questions about travel, multiple car seats, or moving between vehicles
Provide hands-on education so you leave confident in doing it yourself every time
Do CPSTs install the car seat for me?
No, CPSTs don’t do the installation for you. Instead, they guide you step-by-step so you learn how to safely install your seat on your own. This way, you’ll have the knowledge and confidence to reinstall correctly if the seat needs to be moved or adjusted in the future.
Where do appointments take place?
In-Person: At our Concord location. (Mobile appointments coming soon!)
Virtual: Via ZOOM, FaceTime, or WhatsApp for safety checks and basic guidance.
